Planning Preschool Enrollment: A Guide for Families

Choosing a start date is easier when you separate three decisions: which program fits your child, which schedule works for your family, and what the school needs to complete an application. Availability can change, so confirm a place directly rather than relying on a general claim that schools are always full.

W Montessori Academy serves ages 2–3 in Pre-Primary and ages 3–6 in Primary. This guide explains how to prepare and summarizes the school's application information for 2027–2028.

Start with the Program and Schedule

Review the Core Program page, including the separate daily schedules. Both programs offer AM and full-day options, four or five days per week. The application lists these times:

• Drop-off: 8:15–8:30 AM.
• AM program: 8:30–11:30 AM; pickup 11:15–11:30 AM.
• Full-day program: 8:30 AM–3:30 PM; pickup 3:15–3:30 PM.

Compare those times with your commute and your child's current routines. The application asks for preferred days, with final scheduling assigned by the school. A preference is not a confirmed placement.

Prepare for a School Visit

Bring questions about the classroom, teacher communication, meals, toileting, rest, and how new students are introduced. You can use our preschool tour checklist to record answers and compare your options afterward.

Share what matters for your child: previous experience away from home, communication, favorite activities, and any support needs. Ask how the program would respond in practice. A tour should help clarify fit, not pressure you into an immediate decision.

2027–2028 Application Timeline

The school's application packet gives the following dates for that academic year:

• January 15, 2027: Returning-family applications requested.
• January 19, 2027: New-family applications and fees requested; new-family placement begins after returning-family enrollment.
• By February 5, 2027: New families are to be notified.
• By June 1: The school assigns attendance days. The packet says schedules include a Monday or Friday.
• August 1, 2027: Required student documents are due.

These dates apply to the 2027–2028 packet. For a current-year place, a later inquiry, or a different start date, contact admissions to confirm availability and the applicable process.

What to Prepare for the Application

• Student and parent contact information.
• Preferred program, AM or full-day schedule, and attendance days.
• Previous school experience and information that will help the team understand your child.
• Emergency contacts and authorized pickup arrangements.
• Health and dietary information requested by the application.

Ask the admissions team how to return completed forms. Keep your child's personal and health information in the school's application process, rather than posting it in public website comments.

Documents Listed in the Packet

The packet requests a birth certificate copy and Certificate of Child Health Examination for new students. It also lists current health, eye examination, and dental examination forms for kindergarten students. Complete the parent section of the health form as directed, and confirm any additional requirements with the school.

Review Fees and the Enrollment Agreement

For 2027–2028, the packet lists a non-refundable registration fee of $150 for new students or $100 for returning students, plus a $125 materials fee per semester. It says an enrollment deposit is requested upon acceptance.

Request the confirmed 2027–2028 tuition schedule and review the full financial policies before making a commitment. Tuition published for another school year may differ.

After a Place Is Offered

Confirm the classroom, attendance schedule, start date, and documents still needed. Ask which belongings to bring, how drop-off and pickup work, and whom to contact with a question during the transition. Review the parent handbook and complete the school's required paperwork.

If You Miss the Main Application Dates

Contact the school rather than assuming enrollment is closed or a place is guaranteed. Ask whether there is an opening for your child's age and preferred schedule, what process applies, and whether a waiting list is available.
